Snack and Squish July 2025 “Transplants and Transfers”
Clay Squared invites the community into our studios every second Wednesday of the month to make your lunch break out-of-this-world fun! Josh Blanc is a handmade tile maker and his studio creates tiles for residential and commercial spaces. Layl McDill is a polymer clay artist that creates mixed media sculptures and teaches classes in the Clay Squared Gallery.
Josh and Layl are both transplants to Minnesota by way of Columbus, Ohio where they met in art school. Join us to hear how they got here and why they stayed!
Layl will teach how she transfers drawings onto the clay. Josh is going to have everyone play a sort of “telephone game” with the tiles.
The snack will be something that reminds us of Ohio and something Minnesotan.
We will be revealing surprising connections while you learn more about
Clay Squared and have interesting conversations.
