In the 15th Century, household items were made from an affordable clay called “Pygg” which is one origin story of the Piggy Bank.
We will be forming our “Pygg Pots” with a hollow sphere technique made from two pinch pots and then sculpting the rest of the parts to attach.
Students will have the opportunity to add their own embellishments and make the piece their own. There will be an option to cut a hole in the bottom to add a cork (option available on pick up) or leave it closed to hold your money, hopes, or dreams until smashed open with a hammer! What a wonderful yearly ritual.
Please Note:
*Pinch pots can be tricky with long nails.
