Holland Arts East Gallery is pleased to announce the upcoming art show, In a River the Color of Lead by Preston Palmer. Please join us for the opening reception on Thursday, August 15th, 6pm-8pm. The show runs August 8th-August 29th and can be viewed during Yellowbird Coffee Bar’s hours of operation, Mon-Fri 7am-5pm, Sat-Sun 8am-5pm.
About the Show:
In a River the Color of Lead is an exhibition of new paintings by Minneapolis-based artist Preston Palmer.
Inspired by 17th-century Dutch Vanitas paintings, Palmer wanted to create a deeply personal body of work. He uses a variety of symbolic objects and imagery to evoke memories of the past and foreshadow an unknown future.
With this series of paintings, Palmer aims to confront both himself and his audience with the complexities of emotion and the human experience, capturing moments of vulnerability and discomfort in a stark and visceral way.
