In 2019, Artspace acquired the historic Northrup King Building (NKB) in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. On the first Thursday of every month, many of the 300+ NKB artists open their studios for folks to drop in, visit, and shop!
Save the date for the First Thursday on Oct. 7, when Artspace will add to this event by sharing a sneak peek of upcoming plans for the NKB campus. Look for QR codes throughout the site, scan them with your phone, and discover the exciting things in store—from the addition of live/work artist housing to a children’s playground and more! Plus, catch a presentation by Artspace Rafala Green Fellows Shalom Cook and Pablo Lituma, who will share results from their Radical Asset Mapping Project in Northeast Minneapolis. And, if all that is not enough, enjoy traditional English pasties from Potter’s Pasties—voted Best Food Truck in the Twin Cities eight times—and catch live Neo-Soul & Blues music by Mwago Kuria.
