Customizable Coat Sewing Workshop
2 day workshop:
Saturday, March 9, 10am-5pm
Sunday, March 10, 10am-1:30pm (if needed to finish).
We allot extra time to ensure everyone gets the support they need. You may or may not need the whole time to complete the project!
In this workshop, we’ll work together to create your ideal coat using the @allwellworkshop #allwellcardigancoat pattern! Choose from almost limitless options to make your coat long or cropped, with a collar or without, buttons, ties, or no closures. You could make a light-weight cardigan or a warm coat. It’s up to you! This pattern is suitable for people with up to a 62 inch bust.
While it will be helpful to have familiarity with your sewing machine, you do not need prior sewing experience to take this class. You will be guided through adding the features you select for your coat as you make it! Have an old quilt or blanket you’ve been wanting to turn into a piece of clothing? This is the perfect opportunity. 🙂
A sewing pattern and digital license in included in the cost of this class, so you can make the pattern as many times as you wish afterwards. We also have a serger in the studio to ensure a professional finish!
You will learn:
-sewing machine basics
-serger basics
-sewing pattern alteration
-finishing methods
-buttonholes (optional)
-bias binding (optional)
-adding patch pockets
-other techniques as selected
Please bring your own fabric! Information and suggestions on purchasing fabric and supplies will be emailed to you before the class. Suggested fabrics: boiled wool, pre-quilted fabric, cotton jacquard, linen or cotton (for a lighter weight cardigan).
*It is recommended you bring your own sewing machine to this workshop. If you need to borrow a machine, please reach out before signing up.*
