About this Series
This series is called Connections. It is inspired by Theresa’s love of nature and our role as guardians within it. The large pieces are made of acrylic gouache and sometimes include hand-made paper to add texture and depth. The color palette was inspired by her love of Matisse. The paintings of women are inspired by her favorite strong and confident figures in her life.
Bio
Theresa Hutch is a painter and illustrator who specializes in modern mixed media paintings that tell stories of beautiful animals and humans with a whimsical vibe. She graduated with a graphic design degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 1999. Since then, she has illustrated five tarot and oracle decks, (published by US Games Systems, Inc.).
Theresa currently works in a full-time art studio 215 in the Casket Arts Building in Northeast, Minneapolis. She is inspired by her family, garden, yoga and travels.
