Drawing Power from Androgyny
Artist Statement
As a queer artist working in traditional media like paper, graphite, and charcoal, I create mysterious androgynous characters who exude their own distinct identities and captivating presences. I draw profound inspiration from diverse cultural influences related to gender and power and how they are portrayed in art history, pop culture, performance, and design. By interpreting the cultural aesthetics of power and gender, my aim is to portray the empowerment that comes from transcending societal gender norms.
