Adam Little grew up in the Des Moines area and graduated from Waukee High School in 1998. He is a graduate of St Ambrose University where Adam received his BA in painting and art education in 2011. Adam has spent the last 10 years as an educator, teaching elementary art in Davenport while continuing to pursue his own personal artistic journey.

His current body of work is a combination of paintings and drawings that depict a fictional codified mythology. Images and symbols repeat to create an imagined iconography of an advanced, yet long extinct civilization. Adam uses a universal narrative framework to address and process personal concerns like relationships, family, sex, identity, religion and politics while making images that are varied and open to wide interpretations.

His work is fueled by a passion for all visual mediums with heavy influence from cartoons, comics and the history of modern art. A Terrible Parable is the second solo exhibition of Adam’s work to take place at Rogue Buddha Gallery in NE Minneapolis and is the follow up to his 2018 exhibition, Galactic Primitivism.
