Join us this Saturday for a communal Visual Arts Fund work session. We will guide applicants through the application components using a sample application as a starting point. Midway staff will be available to help answer questions that arise during the application process.
We recommend bringing a laptop or preferred device, if available. Paper and pen will be available to those who prefer to make written drafts or notes.
We’ll work question by question so we also recommend arriving at the start of the workshop.
Please let us know in advance if you have any accessibility needs we can accommodate!
Can’t make it to an in-person event? Check out our virtual info session video for more details and guidance regarding our frequently asked questions.
About the VAF
In 2024 the Visual Arts Fund will award $60,000 (six $10,000 grants) to artist-organized projects in the Twin Cities metro region. The VAF supports the development of projects and initiatives that engage the public with visual art happening outside of established arts venues. Many artists currently produce exhibitions and installations in temporary spaces, start new publications, and organize visual arts focused events without the support of an institution or commercial gallery; the VAF will help them develop these activities into more ambitious projects and promote them to a wider audience.
The 2024 Visual Arts Fund grant application opened online on September 1st. Submissions are due Saturday, September 28 by 5:00 pm CDT. For more information and eligibility guidelines, please visit: midwayart.org/vaf-info
The Visual Arts Fund is a grant program established by Midway Contemporary Art with generous support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts through their Regional Regranting Program, which aims to promote vibrant artistic activity in thirty-five cities and regions across the United States.
