Kordula Coleman Bio:
Hello – My name is Kordula Coleman and I am a figurative ceramic sculptor from Northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota. I was born and raised in Trier, Germany, in 1968. My mother was a potter, so I had the opportunity to work with clay from an early age on.

My sculptural work is focused on humans, and their emotional, intellectual and spiritual processes. My greatest reward is when I am told by a viewer that a piece of mine made the experience or emotional state I want to portray palpable to them.

I have been a regular participant of the Northeast Minneapolis Art-A-Whirl since 2010. My work has been represented locally at Three Sisters Eclectic Art, Gallery 360 and Tres Leches Art in the Northrup King building. Last year I showed new works at Artistry in Bloomington, MN, together with painter/sculptor Lind Seebauer-Hansen. Also last year I permanently installed a large figurative, day-of-the-dead inspired sculpture at La Doña Cerveceria, a new Latino owned brewery in the North Loop of Minneapolis, MN. This June I was interviewed on the radio by Steve Staruch for Classical MPR’s program ‘Music with Minnesotans. The interview is archived on their website. I am currently working on my first solo show at Lanesboro Arts in Lanesboro, MN in the fall of 2021, exploring my childhood in postwar Germany.
