I blend both old and new techniques that still show the hand of the maker. I want my clients to know that I made the object with my hands. I value personal engagement with my clients and materials. The hand of the maker is visible in my furniture. The process of craft naturally produces this quality. I believe that humans naturally appreciate quality, so to make something that is pleasing to the eye and provides excellent function is a challenge I wish to master.

I make furniture or objects that solve a problem to enhance one’s quality of life. The emotion in my work comes through as passion. I am constantly thinking about new techniques, materials and designs. This passion is reflected in my attention to detail and the final product. My fascination with tools and techniques brings me to unpredicted results. For example: In my Veneer Lamp I used poplar veneer and the laser cutter to make the lamp shade. This blend of new material and a new process yielded one of the projects I am most proud of.

In our deficit of natural resources, I feel it’s important to note what is essential and what isn’t. I practice this philosophy in my des . Anything that does not enhance the function of the object is not necessary and should be dedicated to other things.
