Leslie Wise, aka “Red”, cherishes the time at her easel in Northeast Minneapolis on weekends and the occasional lucky weeknight. Red’s impressionist style and subjects embrace the mantra that variety is the spice of life and she’s especially drawn towards animals, natural and manmade scenes, and shiny objects. A new and different painting idea will never be turned down if there’s any chance it could be fun. Her paintings are a labor of love and while she generally doesn’t take herself too seriously (on or off the canvas), she appreciates the profound challenge, steadiness, and peace that painting provides for her.
