Mary Anne Kinane has been a practicing artist for many years. Her Educational background is Moorhead State University (Art Teaching/Design), St Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa (Calligraphy) and two master degrees from St Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Mary Anne has shown, demonstrated, taught, sold and taken on custom work for the majority of her visual art career. She has taught in many venues: schools, fairs, Community Education, Bandana Square studio, and workshops. She has taught both children and adults art classes. Her classes are in painting, drawing, design and calligraphy. The subject matter most worked on has recently been landscapes, lakescapes, gardens, flowers, and small animals. She has also rendered hundreds of individual buildings, cabins, churches, and houses in pen and ink and some also in watercolors.

The mediums most used with her art are watercolors, watercolor pencil, ink, and acrylic (some with clay, or other pieces added). She paints on papers, illustration board, canvas, wood, metals, and acrylic.

Mary Anne style is realism with exaggerated colors. Calligraphy with a new approach, lines and colors of rhythm. She uses music when producing art. It keeps you in the moment.
