Creativity has always been a part of my life. As a little girl, I would take a bag with a screen print
of ‘My Stuff’ on the outside with craft projects tucked inside to kindergarten. I secretly hoped I
could convince my fellow students to make said projects with me during playtime.
After an introduction to Frank Lloyd Wright’s scope of work, which included such things as
textile, furniture, and dinnerware design, a desire to study graphic design quickly snowballed
into a passion for architecture. The idea that someone could carefully craft an encompassing
environment from wall framing to dinner table was, and still is, absolutely fascinating to me and
is something I strive to carry into my own work.
Spending three weeks, in the summer of 2002, in an apprenticeship program at Taliesin, the
Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, my passion solidified and I knew I wanted to be an
architect. Following high school, I attended the University of Minnesota where I earned
Bachelor of Science degrees in both Architecture and Art History with a Minor in Design.
I returned to Taliesin for post-baccalaureate work; graduating with my Master of Architecture
degree in 2012. Completing all of the required exams and hours, I became a licensed architect
in 2021.
