Art for me is about discovery & visual storytelling.
In my encaustic work, I try to blur the lines between the past, present, and future, in both technique and subject matter.
I embed digital imagery into my paintings of bees wax, tree resin and pigment, using torch and brush. Each piece is accentuated by hand applied texture & hand applied oil pigments
I want each piece to emotionally and spiritually touch the viewer,
Each image I create is in some way a self-portrait.
A moment of self-reflection.
In my clay work the forms present them self to me.
For me clay is a beautiful therapy from which, with my hands, talismanic totems are born of clay, fire, pigment and glass.
In both mediums my focus has been the archetypes of female.
I have made a life and a living as an artist and a creative.
Working in fashion design, a product ,surface and graphic design.
I studied fashion design at FIT in NYC, and drawing at the Art Student League in NYC.
I have working art studios in Minneapolis MN & in San Miguel de Allende MX
My work is represented in Santa Fe NM at Nathalie gallery
I have exhibited at Belgis Freidel gallery / IFPDA art fair / art on paper
I am a member of NEMA
