My creative practice combines mastery of a strong craft tradition with contemporary approaches to blend ideas, modes of expression, and good design principles – form, line, rhythm and space, that are both functional and genuine. The beauty of metal in its various states amazes me. I am a curious person, which means I easily get absorbed with the qualities and physics of materials, technique, and surface textures. I focus on representing a visual language that is on the edge of imagination and creativity, speaks to truth in materials, or tells a story by capturing moments or compositional elements. For me constructing a three dimensional object is personal, interactive, and reflective as I push the boundaries of jewelry construction to fine art – sculptural in nature and many times unconventional, but designed for the body as a wearable, which means something to the wearer and in turn is viewed by the observer.

Linda holds a MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She received an Individual Fellowship Award from the Wisconsin Arts Board, was an active member of MetalPeople Studio in Madison, WI and visiting instructor at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and Madison, and Milwaukee Area Technical College. In 2004, she accepted a position as Art Metals Department Head at the Worcester Center for MA, in 2006 was presented with the Barrett Morgan Award for exemplary leadership and teaching. In 2007, she moved to Minnesota to pursue directing a comprehensive education program for a non-profit arts organization and since has returned to her studio practice and teaching – Women’s Art Institute at St. Catherine University scholarship & adjunct professor; Penland School of Crafts,  NC 2014 Winter Resident and Summer 2015 and Spring 2016 Studio Assistantships. Her artwork is exhibited and collected nationally.
