Kimberly Maruska, a native of Minnesota’s Twin Cities, discovered her passion for capturing the essence of life through the lens of a camera. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in Photography from the College of Visual Arts, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery that would shape her artistic vision.

The allure of exploration led Kimberly to the picturesque landscapes of Portland, Oregon, where the vast beauty of the great outdoors became a profound influence on her work. What initially started as a personal odyssey evolved into a lifelong quest to delve into the depths of her inner being and unravel the mysteries of the world around her.

Immersing herself in outdoor adventures, Kimberly skillfully employs film and double exposure techniques to manipulate reality, with a keen focus on landscapes and life itself. Her work serves as a testament to the transformative power of nature, capturing the essence of fleeting moments and immortalizing them in a visual narrative.

After years of honing her craft in the Pacific Northwest, Kimberly has returned to her roots in the Twin Cities. She continues to manipulate natural objects and landscapes, using them as a canvas to create windows into a new world. Kimberly Maruska’s art invites viewers to see beyond the ordinary, encouraging them to explore the profound beauty that exists in both the inner self and the world that surrounds us.
