At its core, Betsill’s work has always been about intimacy, vulnerability, and comfort. Originally working as a 3D artist, Betsill’s early installations were focused on public perception as well as intimacy and vulnerability in public places. More recently, Betsill’s focus has shifted inwards: from public to private, from strangers to friends.
In her recent collection of paintings, Betsill draws from on her own experience; creating what she considers to be “an anthology of the role of female friendships for a queer woman in her 20s”
