Heather Humbert (HLH Art) is a Twin Cities based artist who works primarily in acrylic paint. Heather has practiced art for 30 years and holds a degree in studio art from Lawrence University with a focus in acrylic painting and printmaking. Her work is vibrant, quirky, and often playful focusing on storytelling featuring the beauty and whimsy of both life and death. Her current work focuses on animal and human portraiture often using folklore and mythology for inspiration.
Heather spent four years as Arts Retreat Coordinator at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center and five years in a lead administrative capacity at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. She currently manages the board for a large local non-profit. She coached junior and senior high speech and drama for four years and led several in-school art residencies. During the pandemic, Heather co-founded the Stick Figure Arts Collective providing online shows highlighting contemporary artists from across the globe. Heather serves as the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA) building captain for the 2010 Artblok studio and has helped organize and promote events since 2022.
