Emily Schollett finds inspiration in the natural world around her. She is drawn to the pure aesthetic beauty of organic forms she finds along the trails and streams near her home in the St Croix River Valley. Her pieces reference the graceful unfurling of a leaf or bud, implying life and growth.
Using a variety of wheel thrown and hand built techniques, she alters the forms to convey movement and softness. The scalloped edges and carved ridges invite the eye to travel across each piece.
