Allison Eklund is a Twin Cities artist and a member of Gallery Equus in studio 222 of the Northrup-King Building in Minneapolis. Inspired by a lifetime of interest and involvement with horses, she enjoys drawing and painting them with special attention to their unique personalities and gestures. An avid plein air painter and former horse wrangler in the Rockies, she most enjoys painting landscapes on location in wilderness settings, including horseback expeditions. Her art explores a breadth of interests, including music, figurative and social themes. She has a solo law practice as an equine attorney and volunteers as Events Director of Outdoor Painters of Minnesota. She is the lead organizer of OPM’s premier competition, Plein Air Grand Marais.

Eklund Art Studio is open on Friday, Saturday & Sunday of Art-A-Whirl weekend.

Visit Gallery Equus in studio 222 of the Northrup-King Building to see recent work and talk to the artist during Art-a-Whirl.
