I create my work on wood panels and boards.  As a painter, I aim to capture the cryptic emotions of our instincts and create characters to place feelings. I base my process directly from the grain of the wood and from there, I create all my images, themes and creatures.  Throughout my time at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, I was fascinated by the stories that objects and materials tell,  by using my major as a way to voice them. I believe that as artists, we hold the power to give beauty to overlooked materials, creating vivid imagery onto them while sharing a part of ourselves along with theirs. I have found my style after years of experimentation and unraveled a primal urge to create on a daily basis. Nothing has driven me more in life than art. It carries my ideas, my thoughts, and concepts that I haven’t yet fully understood.

The color red is a huge factor in the work I make. The color red can insinuate a vast scope of emotion, whether that be anger, passion, love, or fear, it can always relate to someone. The color red emulates blood, the pure essence of our life and our death, but inherently can’t be only one or the other.
