Dakota Mae Design

My love of stones and gems began during my childhood while hunting for agates and thompsonites on the north shore of Lake Superior. I soon became hooked on glass beads as well, and collected rare and vintage beads on trips to Africa, Europe, the Far East and around the United States.

I also make art glass beads and enhance them with encasing, dichroic glass, and 22K gold and fine silver leaf. I combine them with gemstones, hammered and stamped sterling silver, torched copper, 14K gold and gold filled, brass, Austrian crystals, and unique treasures.

While designing I focus on color, balance, beauty, wearability, timelessness and quality.
