Scandinavian design emerged in the 1950’s with a focus on light and space. Strong shapes offer something solid in response to the wildness or expansiveness of nature.
Mixed media artist, Cynthia Berg, uses collage and vintage ephemera to capture texture and history in initial layers. When a painting begins to speak, it offers clues to its purpose – a memory, a feeling, a dream, the preciousness of the present moment. And often, poetry, climate, flora.
Sanding and glazing make each piece soft, familiar, timeless – easy to enjoy in any hygge-inspired space.
