I am a Minneapolis-based artist focused on paintings of urban interiors, urban landscapes, and natural subjects in oil. I have been working on a series of coffee shops and cafes from both Minnesota and internationally since 2012, which can be seen in my images. More recently, I have started to explore specific working spaces and lesser known or hidden spaces that create the cities where we live. One example is my paintings of the Mercury Mosaic handmade tile factory located near my studio in Northeast Minneapolis. These can also be viewed in my images.
I learned how to paint in high school and am self-taught since graduation. In college I studied Literature and Creative Writing, and I feel there is a strong narrative quality to my paintings that captures the mood or feeling of a place, and the story of interaction between characters. I open my studio in the Casket Arts Building regularly and also participate in art fairs and exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
is open on
Friday, Saturday & Sunday of Art-A-Whirl weekend.
I will be opening my studio, #100 in the Casket Arts Building at 681 17th Ave NE, so that 5 people at a time (in addition to me) can visit. I have 1900 square feet and 5 people can very safely and easily visit the studio while staying socially distanced, wearing masks.
To reserve a time to come to the studio, contact me on Brendan.Kramp@gmail.com or 646-644-1080 and I can provide a link to sign up for a 20 minute visit. You can also visit my instagram at: @brendan_kramp_studio for updates about Art-A-Whirl.
