In order to participate in Art-A-Whirl, you must be a member of NEMAA. Membership is open to all. View membership benefits. The deadline to be included in the printed Directory is March 1, 2020.
For Artists & Galleries
Artist and Professional Gallery Members receive a red dot on the Art-A-Whirl map and are listed in the printed Art-A-Whirl Directory and Guide. Locations with 10 or more NEMAA artist members will receive a starred red dot. NEMAA does not place artists for Art-A-Whirl. If you are an artist without studio space, NEMAA provides a list of sites who have signed up as willing to host guest artists. Members may log in to their accounts and access the list through the “Resources” tab on the left. Artists must contact the sites and make arrangements themselves.
Business members receive a blue dot on the maps. Restaurants, breweries, and distillers receive a blue square for dining. In order to receive a red dot, a business location must have at least one NEMAA member artist there all three days of Art-A-Whirl. If a business wishes to host guest artists, they can access the list of sites hosting guest artists (log in to your NEMAA account, go to the “Resources” tab on the left) and access the form by clicking on the link at the bottom of the list spreadsheet.
For Non-profits (NPOs)
Non-profit members will receive a community event dot if they are hosting a special event during Art-A-Whirl. In order to receive a red dot, an NPO location must have at least one NEMAA member artist there all three days of Art-A-Whirl. If an NPO wishes to host guest artists, they can access the list of sites hosting guest artists (log in to your NEMAA account, go to the “Resources” tab on the left) and access the form by clicking on the link at the bottom of the list spreadsheet.
For Bands & Musical Acts
NEMAA does not book bands for Art-A-Whirl, but we do provide a list of bands interested in playing to our members. We recommend that bands approach venues directly. That said, bands can join NEMAA as Artist Members (with “Music” as your medium), and NEMAA can list when/where they are playing on our App during Art-A-Whirl. A band or musical group participating in Art-A-Whirl can support NEMAA by:
• Joining NEMAA as an Artist member.
• Making a donation to NEMAA either now or with proceeds from Art-A-Whirl.
• Encourage other bands and musicians to support NEMAA by becoming members.
• Request that as part of compensation for playing at Art-A-Whirl, a venue purchases membership for the band or musician.
For Food Trucks
NEMAA does not coordinate food truck placement for the event; we recommend approaching venues directly. If a vendor participates in Art-A-Whirl, here are some ways they can support NEMAA:
• Join as a Business Member.
• Make a donation to NEMAA either now or with proceeds from Art-A-Whirl.
• Purchase an ad in NEMAA’s Directory & Magazine.
