Art Attack 2012 Infuses Participatory Art Projects

Minneapolis, MN  October 10, 2012 -  The Northrup King Building celebrates its 15th annual Art Attack November 2-4.  Long known as the epicenter of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, the Northrup King Building will be infusing participatory art projects into Art Attack as it hosts REwork Participatory Art Projects.

Guests attending Art Attack are able to move from observer to participant as they stroll through the private studios of more than 200 artists and encounter a variety of participatory art projects in the Third Floor Gallery.

REwork co-curators Molly Balcom Raleigh and Kirstin Wiegmann invite Art Attack goers to see their dreams performed, explore winter hibernation positions, draw origingal pictures of a comic figure model, interpret a musical-text score and more.  REwork features participatory art projects by Susy Bielak, Pritika Chowdry, Robin Garwood, Emilia Javanica, Rachel Jendrzejewski, Jonathan Zorn and Molly Balcom Raleigh.

A highlight of the REwork experience will be free dessert and lively conversation on Friday night through Balcom Raleigh’s FEED/FEED, a project debuted at last June’s Northern Spark.  A live, life-sized video feed between the Northrup King Building and the INScape Arts building in Seattle will create a half-real, half virtual group of dining companions at one round table.

This is a free event with free parking.  For more information about the artists, demonstrations and other happenings at Art Attack, go to www.northrupkingbuilding.com  or contact Debbie Woodward, Molly Balcom Raleigh or Kirstin Wiegmann.
